So....I don't want to spoil Chris's chance to break the news, but most of these readers are my friends so Here we go...

Chris went down to South Carolina to interview at BMW for a co-op position. We have been waiting to hear back from them for two weeks. We had started thinking that it wasn't going to pan out because when he went down they stressed how it was really competitive and you should just be proud that you were invited out. They kept telling everyone that they wished they had space for them all, but especially in these economic times they just didn't have an endless budget. So Chris hadn't heard anything and decided to contact the HR department. It turns out he was chosen as the first alternate for the project he interviewed with....

only because they opened a new project that they want him to work on. He was offered a place on a team that will work with a new prototype! For Chris, who has worked on cars and LOVED cars his whole life, there isn't a better opportunity. Congratulations Bubba- I LOVE YOU and am sooooo proud of you!
