A GREAT weekend...Pt 1

Chris had a great trip last weekend to go rafting for his dad's birthday. All the boys(plus a wife) were able to join their dad on the Upper Gauley in WV for some world class rafting. The pics below prove that a good time was had by all! Happy birthday Dad, thanks for the fun excuse to celebrate a great trip, with great family!!
While Chris was away, Saylie and I had some company of our own. My mom and sister made the long drive out to hangout for a fun girls weekend (mostly to see little Saylie Sue. She is our leverage to get people out here to Michigan). We packed a LOT into their short stay and cannot wait to do it again!Saylie stayed up (because her mommy was being bad) VERY late and was able to greet the weary travelers--and steal their shoes! The next morning, she brought them up to speed on her increased ability to make mischief..and messesand her ability to voice her dislike of any punishment whatsoever. Finally, after the mid-morning drama, we headed out to Erwin's Orchards to pick some apples and have a festive fall day. Naturally, there were about 1.5 million people there, but we still managed to enjoy some of the offerings. Saylie spotted a dog within about 3 minutes of being there (it was not too hard since that dog was massive) but true to form, she was insistent in petting and kissing her new friend.

then we moved on to the pony rides. Yes, you heard me. Saylie had her first pony ride. How is she old enough to do these things? Again, since it was an animal, she was in HEAVEN! She loved the little pony and was sure to give it a thank you kiss when her ride was done. (I tried to keep her actual face off the horse, but seriously, she is bound to get some animal borne illness. she cannot stay away!) After a nice ride, it was time to stop and smell the flowers (and yes, kiss them too).
By now were warmed up so we headed to the orchard to pick...but after a stinky diaper and 45 minutes in line, we decided to skip the picking (i know we are SO LAME!) and we just snuck back a few rows to take some pictures to document our attempt. Saylie doesn't know what apples are yet, but she was thrilled I would take her to a field full of "BALLS!" hahaha. I love this girl.
And with that, we bid farewell and headed out to our next adventure...
