Ann Arbor had the Architects of Air exhibit come to the Summer Fest for the first time ever. Apparently the Saturday crowd was the biggest they have ever seen. Awesome...cause we were in it. Yes, we drove 30 minutes to stand in line for 2 1/2 hours with a toddler. egads!! But al in all, Saylie LOVED running around the field while we waited. She charmed many a strangers also waiting in line, and the weather was awesome, so it worked out.

Chris and I aren't crowd people and there aren't many things we will wait in line for, but since we had already made the drive, and it is kinda a one time thing, we went for it. We were glad we did. it was so neat. Saylie was due for a nap and at the end of her rope by the time we got to go in, so it was short lived, but she LOVED the colors and the texture inside. She walked in and exclaimed, "WOAHHH!"

The pictures without flash show how it really looked in there. The entire tent is inflatable and you can walk through it. it is constructed out of a thin PVC like material that was specially constructed for this exhibit. The plastic is in silver mostly, but there are certain portions made of translucent colors, which allow natural light in and they bounce off the silver walls. As the sun or clouds move, the entire look in the tent changes. It was a maze inside and Say loved running down the corridors.

So---if it comes near you, go see it, but maybe go on the weeknight and not the same time as a gazillion others. Worth the trip, not so much worth the wait.
