No surprise I am sure, but we are so in love with our little girl. Pictures are fun and everything but they just don't do her justice. She has the cutest face and disposition and movements and we just love every little thing about her!
first of all, we went to the doctor to talk about being induced and she examined everything and said that we should go to the hospital that night and get admitted so I could get started on some drugs so that the Pitocin would work well on m body the next day. So we arrived Thursday night at 6pm, got settled into our room and started the meds.
Before starting them I was already having small but frequent contractions on my own and was dilated to a 1 1/2. That was pretty surprising!! A few hours later I woke up in the night really uncomfortable and they wanted to check and see if anything was going on. I couldn't even sit still long enough for them to examine. They gave me the epidural and soon found that without pitocin I was at a 5! Once the epidural kicked in I felt AMAZING (I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THOSE THINGS!!) I easily went to sleep and was woken up at 5 am by the nurses who were shocked that I was fully dilated and fully effaced!!! They didn't even need the PIT. It was pretty shocking and exciting at the same time! I felt so good from the epidural so we started laboring.
Labor was going well but Saylie bug was tilting her head a little funny so they decided to let me take a little nap and let her get adjusted. A few hours later we pushed and pushed...and pushed for an hour. (honestly, i was hard but it never felt painful. I wasn't even sweating. it was almost fun!) After an hour they determined that Saylie had one big head and I had a low pelvic arch so they decided the only other option was a C section.
I was numbed and prepped and brought into the operating room and after they made the first incision, Chris got to join us. It was so fast and I felt one big push of pressure and then heard the cutest little squeal ever. The doctors were cleaning her up and sewing me shut and the whole time they were laughing at how big her cheeks were and commenting how they made the right call on a C section because she "all head".
Boy were they right. She had the roundest head and these big puffy cheeks and a double chin, and oh how we love her. When she cries it sounds like a squeaky door hinge or a baby eagle screeching. It is so cute I almost like when she's crying, which is very rarely. She is a snuggle bug and will curl up into a ball and sleep on our chest, or we hold her like a football and she dozes right to sleep. She has jaundice so they have had her in some goggles and a bili-basinett (which is the baby tanning bed). She has been in there all day but then tonight she gets out and we will snuggle her to pieces and take her home tomorrow! We can't wait!
Enjoy these shots because though they are cute, they just DON'T do her justice. You have to come meet her!

She is DARLING!! It is all I can do not to fake ill and scoot on down to see her. Forget work, I got a new baby niece I need to see!!!!

I'm so happy for you guys! She's adorable and I love her name. Even with her cute little chubby cheeks, she's so little.
I forget how little they are when they come out. My girls are giants compared to Saylie but then again, they're both older. I still think of Ginger as my baby and then I see your baby and I realize that Ginger's growing so fast.
I hope you recover quickly and feel good. Good luck with the nursing thing, if that's what you're doing. That was a nightmare for me the first time around.
I can't wait to see more pictures and hear more about your experiences as a new mother.
She is beautiful! Good work! So glad everything went well!
